The selfmade creamcheese from india is often used for curry dishes or as stuffing, but you can also find it in desserts. The preparation is easy and quick. This dish is well suited for newcomers or fans of the Indian cuisin.

Zutaten:

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1-2 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 3-4 onions (cut them into very small pieces)
  • 250 gm of tomatoe puree
  • 3-4 cardamom pods/ 1-2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1-2 tsp corriander powder
  • 3-4 cloves
  • red chilli powder (as you like)
  • fenugreek powder
  • 2-3 green chillies (not necessary)
  • 500 gm Spinach
  • 500 gm Cottage Cheese (you can get it in any Indian shop)

Preparation: In a pan, take oil, and put cumin seeds, then add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and smell the aroma of the spices and only after that you add ginger garlic paste, and after 2 minutes or so add onions. Let the onions become golden brown then you can add tomato puree and let it cook for sometime. After that add little cumin powder and corriander powder as stated above. As a next step, add red chilli powder, fenugreek powder & green chillies. After a minute, you can put the spinach and let it cook for 5 -7 minutes after which you are free to add the cottage cheese and garnish it with some cream. The Palak Paneer is served hot with Indian bread or boiled rice.
